The Career Resource Center is open to students, alumni, and faculty of BUGSDM. It offers a variety of support services to dental professionals at all stages of their careers. The newly developed center is equipped with four computer terminals with Internet access, word processing, email, and NERB dental and dental hygiene computerized sample tests. A printer and fax copier are available to assist you with career-related activities.

The center also houses a career resource library that contains information on setting up a dental practice, postdoctoral and general dentistry residency programs, associateships, internship opportunities, fellowships, licensing information for all 50 states, Pass and Match program information, practice management journals, and career development materials.

The center offers individual and group sessions on resume writing, interviewing strategies, applying to residency programs, and career planning.

Each year, the center will be inviting recruiters from the Uniform (military) and Public Health Services to present information on residency and career planning.

The center features the Dental Career Network, a web-based resource for career information in the New England area. The network provides easy access to employment information online, 24 hours a day. Users can register; access, and view dental opportunities; access and view resumes; and design and post a resume, all online. Users can also look for an associate or hygienist for their practice and buy or sell dental equipment. The Dental Career Network is free for all students and alumni looking for positions.

BUGSDM offers a variety of continuing education programs for dentists and auxiliary staff. These courses are designed to update oral health professionals on the latest developments in dental practice and research. Alumni of the school receive a 20 percent discount on the tuition of all continuing dental education programs except courses with special alumni rates and participation classes in endodontics.
