2. How many residents are accepted each year?
Boston University accepts 12 AEGD residents each year.
PROGRAM INFORMATION
1. How often do I have to be on call?
Residents rotate weekly on-call rotations throughout the year. With 12 residents, you can expect to be on call every 12 weeks. Each resident will be on call 3 to 4 weeks out of the year.
2. Do I qualify for a stipend? How much is the stipend?
Applicants will be told during their interview if they qualify for a stipend. Stipends are approximately $25,000 for the year and are tax-free for American citizens.
3 . Do AEGD residents place implants?
We do not place implants in the AEGD department. Residents treatment plan and restore implants. They also have the chance to assist in at least one implant placement surgery.
10. What is the general schedule like for AEGD residents?
AEGD residents are required to spend 40 hours per week in the clinic. There will usually be classes before and/or after clinic that will be mandatory. A limited amount of laboratory work must also be completed by the resident.
