Dr. Susan Bestgen Doctor Bestgen graduated from Case Western Reserve University and completed her oral and maxillofacial surgery training at University Hospitals/Case Western Reserve University. Following private practice and five years of service n the US Navy, in 1991 Dr. Bestgen joined the staff at the Boston VA Healthcare System in Jamaica Plain as a staff oral surgeon. In 2003 she became Chief of Dental Services for the VA in Boston, overseeing all dental care at their medical centers in Brockton, West Roxbury, and Jamaica Plain. Dr. Bestgen is a Federal Service Member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She serves on two national VA committees: coding and software development, and is the New England regional dental representative to the Office of Dentistry in Washington, DC. Dr. Bestgen's interests include pathology and reconstruction, and the use and development of computerized dental records.
