If you complete signout between Monday, May 5, 2008 and Friday, May 16, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. your degree will be conferred on May 18, 2008. However, your diploma cannot be guaranteed to be at the graduation ceremony on May 18, 2008 and will be mailed to your diploma mailing address. Students not signed out by August 29, 2008 at 5:00pm will be assessed partial tuition and all applicable fees for the Fall 2008 semester and will not be eligible to graduate prior to January 25, 2009. Your name will appear in both the university and dental school commencement programs as you entered it in the diploma name section of the student link. MARCH 18, 2008 WILL BE THE LAST DAY TO UPDATE THIS INFORMATION. HONORS Students who, by virtue of strong academic performances during their final year, advance their GPA's beyond an honors level, may request a new diploma be mailed to them which will indicate the new honors. Students whose academic performances during the final year causes their GPA's to fall below an honors level will retain the Latin honors as originally determined. Criteria for honors

To request a new diploma reflecting your new honors please email Allison Rowe at awrowe@bu.edu. Latin Honors Calculation for the DMD Class of 2012 forward: The top five percent will be awarded degrees with summa cum laude, the next ten percent will be awarded degrees with magna cum laude, and the next fifteen percent will be awarded degrees with cum laude. Honors corresponding to each of these categories will be based on graduating students’ 3rd year cumulative GPAs. Students who, by virtue of strong academic performances during their final year, advance their GPA's beyond an honors level, may request a new diploma be mailed to them which will indicate the new honors. Students whose academic performances during the final year causes their GPA's to fall below an honors level will retain the Latin honors as originally determined. Latin Honors Calculation for the AS Class of 2010 forward: The top five percent will be awarded degrees with “High Honors” and the next ten percent will be awarded degrees with “Honors”. Honors corresponding to each of these categories will be based on graduating students’ cumulative GPAs after 1.5 years of study. Students who, by virtue of strong academic performances during their final year, advance their GPA's beyond an honors level, may request a new diploma be mailed to them which will indicate the new honors. Students whose academic performances during the final year causes their GPA's to fall below an honors level will retain the Latin honors as originally determined.
