Students can either purchase health insurance coverage through BU or enroll in a comparable plan on their own. BU offers a plan through Aetna Student Health. Dependent Enrollment is for the current policy year only and does not automatically roll-over to the next policy year. waive the BU HI plan A student must have a qualifying US-based health insurance plan. To waive the plan offered by BU, follow the next three steps:
Qualifying Events: You may also enroll or change plan type (individual to family or family to individual) anytime if you have had a qualifying event. Qualifying events include: a new baby, marriage, divorce, or loss of coverage through a parent. Documentation of your qualifying event must be presented at the time of enrollment.
