research description
Research interests include the mechanisms of periodontal disease progression, alveolar bone loss, skeletal bone mineral density, as well as tobacco control and prevention.
Studies encompass the areas of oral epidemiology, health services research, and health policy. The work involves a variety of population studies with the focus on underserved populations such as elders, minorities, and persons living with disabilities.
